Ramsey and Arctic are wolfdogs that were rescued in the Atkins/Potsville area. They were bought by young adult couple but when the couple broke up, the young man dumped them in the country. They were caught by animal control raiding a chicken coop. Arctic was caught and taken to the pound, but Ramsey got away. Ramsey was found three weeks later on the side of the road emaciated and confused. It took a couple of good Samaritans three hours to coax him close enough to catch him.

They were reunited several weeks later when they were both taken to the same veterinary clinic and were recognized. They were fostered by a couple in Fayetteville until their howling became an issue and Briar Patch was asked to take them.

Arctic and Ramsey are a bonded pair and can not be separated. Ramsey is unadoptable due to his severe brain injury and blindness. Arctic is unadoptable due to his food aggression and his close bond with Ramsey. They will be staying with us for the rest of their lives. We are accepting sponsorship of them and any help would be welcome.

Cody

Cody is a high content wolfdog. He came to us emaciated, full of mange, and both eyes were infected. He packed on the weight and is back on track to being fully healthy.

Due to the lack of necessary socialization, Cody will not be adoptable, but will remain with us. We are accepting sponsorship of him and any help would be welcome.

We will be posting after pictures now that he is healthy.  Please check out our Facebook page for videos of his progress!

Meet our very first and our reason for the beginning of Briar Patch Wolf Dog rescue. We rescued Roxie at 6 months and she had been abused by neighborhood children and had never been properly socialized.

Rehabilitating her was hard work and she's taught us many lessons along the way that we are in turn using to help others like herself.  Roxie is now five years old and she is a much loved member of our family.

Thunder

Thunder is an eleven year old senior dog. His owner got sick and was unable to care for him. He was put on an animal swap website and a friend of ours saw him, thought he was a wolfdog and contacted us.

When released to us, he was overweight and on a 20ft log chain. He is acutally a registered Alaskan Malamute. Due to his age and arthritis in his hips, he is not adoptable, but will live with us for the rest of his life. He is affectionately called Thunder-Buns and absolutely loves people and loves to sit on feet. Even as a senior, he loves to play, loves his toys and absolutely loves all the attention he can get (and he insists on his attention) and can keep up with the youner ones just fine!
